Aspects regarding the impact of digital transformation in the sector of medical services

Abstract:

This study explores the profound transformation of the healthcare sector through digitalisation, enhanced by the COVID-19 pandemic. The adoption of digital technologies in medical assistance is analysed, from data management to the implementation of telemedicine, highlighting its benefits and the encountered challenges. The study emphasizes the way how digitalisation has improved the access to medical information, how it has facilitated the communication between patients and healthcare service providers and contributed to increasing the efficiency of clinical processes. Moreover, the importance of digital literacy and its impact on patients and medical professionals is discussed. The conclusions of this study suggest that digital technologies are essential for responding to the emerging needs in public healthcare in a fast and efficient manner, however, they require an adequate policy and adequate strategies for a successful integration.
