Costin PRIBEANU

Abstract:

Although there is a consensus regarding the deployment of easy do learn and easy to use applications, many of these have usability problems. Improving the quality of municipal websites requires a user centred design approach and respecting of usability guidelines. This paper presents an example of extending an existing guidelines base with a set of four usability guidelines for municipal websites. The guidelines have been derived from previous studies and follow a hierarchical structure (a general guideline and three detailed guidelines).

Keywords:
usability, municipal web sites, usability guidelines, software tools.
