Lucrarea face o trecere în revistă a stadiului standardizării în informatica medicală pe plan mondial, cu accent asupra activității de standardizare la nivel european. Se prezintă, de asemenea, şi o serIe de propuneri în vederea promovării activităţii de standardizare în informatica medicală la nivel naţional.
