Abstract:

In order to increase the economic efficiency of any trade company it is necessary to cut costs, including utility costs. Since electricity is probably the most important utility, cutting electricity costs must come as a priority. One way to achieve this goal is to reduce the quadergy „consumption” by enhancing the power factor at consumer level. The microprocessor automatic system that the authors put forward is actually a system that automatically adjusts the power factor depending on the neutral power factor, while exploiting the capacity of overexcited synchronous motors to generate reactive power. The proposed method ensures maximum efficiency for consumers using work machines driven by synchronous motors.
