Portal for Information and Evaluation Resources for On-line Libraries

Abstract:

The paper presents the portal for information and evaluation resources for on-line libraries, created by a consortium consisting of the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI), University of Bucharest (UB) and the Romanian Academy Library (BAR) under the Quality and Performance Evaluation of Online Libraries (LibEval) Project, PN II Programme – Partnerships. The LibEval Portal is a unique access point to resources and information related to evaluation of on-line libraries. The portal provide access to best practices, applications, information and knowledge base specific to the field of on-line library evaluation, a wide community including specialists and management staff from libraries, researchers and experts in evaluation, in particular, library evaluation, academics and students, users interested in this area. The user – registered or public – can access the content depending on access rights established according to the security level of the resource (documet or link to document / information) or event (news, scientific events, publications, dedicated courses, etc.) can download into its computer a document (if the owner of the document allows it) and can collaborate in completing the content with new resources and / or information using the collaboration tools that are provided (discussion forum and e-mail)
