Automatic License / Number Plate Recognition – LPR / ANPR – based systems. A synthetic analysis of some ANPR products

Abstract:

Without aiming to be an exhaustive monography in the domain, this paper presents in a synthetical manner the results of the analysis of some of the most representatives LPR / ANPR products on the market nowadays. While trying to keep an as high as possible objectivity, 17 case studies are reviewed concerning as many producers, presenting aspects related to the functional and technical characteristics, and also the applicability area, specific requirements and constraints – where it is the case – for their products (product families), as they are stated by the respective manufacturers themselves. The paper ends with some conclusions and a list of references.
