Abstract:

The continuously changing web perspectives lead to the usage of the concept of ontology to explain a possible meaningful web: the semantic web. Ontology, one of the favorites of the Occidental philosophical toughs, suffered a series of transformations. The paper covers some of these transformations and highlights a few key events in the evolution of the philosophical concept of ontology.
