Abstract:

This paper presents an information system dedicated to monitoring the activities of preventing and eliminating the effects of events which can produce disasters. This system is conceived as a hierarchical and geographical distributed system. A series of information on the system structure and functions as well as on its functioning are offered. Through its components, this system makes the use of available resources efficient and improves decisional processes in managing disasters.
