Abstract: The article presents an analysis of artificial intelligence tools based on machine learning algorithms used for the prediction and prevention of skin cancer, especially for its most aggressive form- cutaneous melanoma. Techniques such as machine learning and deep learning based on intelligent algorithms are increasingly used in the development of supportive tool for diagnosis based on a set of tests. Thus, in the case of skin cancer diagnosis assisted by systems based on artificial intelligence, the role of the physician is to verify and validate the diagnosis proposed by the intelligent machine, and to use it as support to take the correct medical decision for diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The findings of this article highlight the role of artificial intelligence and of physician-support systems using techniques that enable high-performance computers to learn automatically based on data and statistics, to improve the primary prevention and early detection of skin cancer, which is a frequent and aggressive pathology.
