ARCSITE Portal – A Modern Interactive Tool for Archaeological and
Touristic Information

Abstract: The article presents information on the ARCSITE system which contains support tools providing information about archaeological sites and touristic places to the people who travel for touristic purposes, at any time and in any place. In order to develop the ARCSITE system there were used the facilities ofered by the Global Positioning System (GPS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Global Package Radio Service (GPRS). ARCSITE portal provides services for personal computers and mobile communication devices (phone, palm computer, laptop, PDA etc.).
