Abstract: According to strategic documents at national level for the period 2014-2020, ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) is characterized by its competitive dynamics among sectors of smart specialization (SS) in the economy and is also a priority in research, development and innovation (RDI), due to the support it provides for the competitiveness of other sectors SI. The paper presents the results of analyzing the RDI topic on Management, Governance and Analytics of Big Data, which was selected through the relevance of the solutions it can offer for the 10 SS sectors. The main tackled issues regarding this topic are to explain its basic concepts, to emphasiye its potential impact on economic competitiveness and to identify solutions that illustrate this potential.
