Soundcloud – Innovation through Communication.
A system architecture for a new business model

Abstract: This paper elaborates the business- and architectural model of the Soundcloud platform, a social network for musicians. Due to the advanced development of the Internet, Soundcloud was created to innovate, facilitate and improve the interaction of musicians worldwide. This paper introduces the reader to the technical aspect, like user interface platform, direct messaging, groups, statistical system, copyright, web 2.0, widgets, mobile technology implementation, marketing and financial aspects of the company. The reader is able to see how the Internet has managed to radically change the music industry and will also be able to track the results of analysis of two similar yet different social networks for musicians, Soundcloud vs. Mixcloud.
